Fatim Bouaré, general manager
of Mali Chic, has been an
entrepreneur since early
childhood. As a young girl she
sold bread for her mother,
relishing the fact that she was the
best, though youngest,
salesperson in the family. Her
love of sales, interacting with all
kinds of people, her innate good
business sense and creative
entrepreneurial spirit has
enabled her to successfully lead this collective of five master artisans.
In addition to their three in-house production facilities, Mali Chic works with
over 200 artisans groups across Mali. They use traditional and indigenous
designs to create highly innovative and fresh fashion and home accessories.
Mali Chic has a stunning gallery in Bamako and has slowly been developing
their international clientele by attending numerous US trade shows sponsored
by the West African Trade Hub. In 2010 they will attend a major trade show
independently: see them exhibiting at the Los Angeles Gift Show in February
2010.
